Week 6
May 15 - May 19
KeyFlare v1.0.1 in Action
A showcase of the latest version of KeyFlare!
Summary
Week six of my senior project, marking the conclusion of my work on KeyFlare, an interactive, semantic machine vision application, included crucial steps taken towards providing an understanding of the application. As the final week of this project, my focus shifted from further refinement of the application to creating a comprehensive understanding of the project among my peers and gathering their perspectives on the usability of the product.
Key accomplishments of this week include:
Creation of a detailed presentation of my work, explaining the crux of KeyFlare, its inner workings, and the intended users of this project. This presentation was an important milestone of the project as it was the final presentation of my work, so significant effort was placed into creating it.
The discussion that ensued post-presentation was enlightening. I learned about one potential use-case of this project: supporting people on a boat who cannot use a mouse due to the ship motions. This use-case affirms the project's potential in delivering assistance across diverse contexts.
I created multiple video demos of the project. These quick videos are videos showing the projects final use-case.
Lastly, the final version of this project was uploaded to the GitHub repository, marking the completion of the development phase of KeyFlare.
As I wrap up the development phase of KeyFlare, I would like to say that I'm immensely grateful for this journey. Although there was steep learning curve to implementing linear algebra and the numerous python repositories I used, the skills and experience I learned from creating and presenting this project will be useful throughout my life for when I showcase my numerous personal works. The feedback and suggestions received over this week show this project's potential, and the journey of KeyFlare might continue, with a promise to make UI navigation more accessible and user-friendly.
Previous Goal
The goal of this week is to focus on marketing my project and also getting an array of opinions on the final result.
